desktop icons

I have checked for similar questions and have tried -to no avail - to solve the problem.  I can access the files on the desktop via the toolbar at the bottom of the screen but I want my icons back!

Hi

Try right clicking anywhere on your desktop, go to arrange icons by, then select show desktop icons. Hopefully your icons will now return!

lloyd1e - what are you saying ? are you saying that all your desktop icons have vanished ?

if so,i had this problem once and it was a spyware issue.it snuck in and basically hid all my icons.i had to end task the prog and then uninstall it.

Many thanks to both of you who've replied.  I right-clicked, held my breath and voila!!  The icons and peace are restored.
