Ad-ware caused PC to crash!

Yesterday I downloaded Ad-aware 4.0 from download.com and removed all of the spyware from my PC but now nearly all of my programs crash as soon as I open them. The close program box appears and I have to close the program. I think the problem is with Explorer but I'm not sure. I tried upgrading IE 5.0 to IE 5.5 but that didn't fix the problem. Does anyone know what to do? Thanks!

I assume you are referring to the programmes that were downloaded containing the spyware. If you remove the spyware from these programmes they will cease to function. This is the price you pay for "free" software. I had the same situation last night with IMESH, a programme similar to Napster. I deleted the programme! Hope this helps

I FOUND THAT IF AFTER I FIRST USE THE , UNINSTALL (IF THERE IS ONE ON PROGRAM) THEN, I GO TO FIND AND TYPE IN PROGRAM NAME, DELETE ALL, THEN EMPTY RECYCLE BIN. I CAN REMOVE ALL THE COMPONENTS OF THESE PROGRAMS. HOPE THIS HELPS, IT DID ME! NANC
