Looking For Some Advice
6 Answers
I wonder if someone could point me in the right direction. I have a lot of CDs and have downloaded some of them to my laptop. I only ever listen to music at night in bed. I have burnt some blank discs with my favourite tunes but usually can only get about 70 mins or thereabouts. I would like to make more playlists and I am told I can do this with MP3 or Ipod. My daughter gave me an MP3 player, but there are no instructions, so I am stuck. If I buy something what should I buy. I want something that I can download my CDs onto (also from the laptop) and be able to make playlists. Can anyone tell me what to buy, and it would need to be something not too complicated. Thanks

This may work
Plug in the MP3 player into the laptop with USB cable.
Open the "Computer" (or My Computer) option on the main Windows Menu.
This should show the mp3 player as one of the devices on the screen as an icon.
Double click on the icon for the mp3 player and it should "open". You are now looking at the mp3 disk memory.
Now open a folder from your laptop with some mp3 files in it.
You should now have two windows open, one showing the mp3 files on your laptop, the other showing the mp3 player.
RIGHT click on one of the mp3 files, then hold down the mouse button and drag it to the window where the mp3 player is shown.
Let go of the mouse button you maye be asked Move or Copy. Select Copy.
This will copy the mp3 file from your computer to your mp3 player memory.
Do this with a number of mp3 files.
Unplug the mp3 player from the laptop and then use the buttons on the mp3 player to play the tracks you have copied across.
If this works then just copy files across as and when you need them, You can select multiple mp3 files by holding down Ctrl and Shift.
You can remove mp3 files off your mp3 player by just selecting the file and pressing the delete button.
Good luck.

I am not sure what you actually want to buy as you seem to have a laptop, an mp3 player and the music.
You say you listen to music in bed, so why not listen to the music direct off your laptop? You can store music files on your laptop and then use something like Windows Media Player to play the tracks.
Or do you mean you want to buy an mp3 player?
If so I bought my wife a Sony mp3 player from Argos which was easy to use and came with full instructions.
