Yes I wanted a box in the bedroom so I could record all the rubbish that Mr N (on subscription in the lounge) doesn't want to see.

If it is only Freeview channels that you want to record then it would be cheaper to buy a Freeview recorder or Freeview HD box as one off cost, instead of paying a monthly subscription to Sky!
You were involved in a similar thread below and asked the same question to which I answered.

You can watch some sky stuff on upto two other devices - Xbox, iPad, etc. Not sure how limited the programmes are though but they are on demand.
Question Author
sherrardk, Xbox? ipad? not at my age, I'm still struggling with a wind up telephone!
Are you using a laptop? You can watch sky on that (says she like she knows how to do it!).
not sure if that works outside of the UK...and the sky site will know where you are logging on from......hidemyass might work.....
don't think it will work for you Neti, you need to be a sky subscriber....
Then there is also the option to use an internet session to connect to:

http://www.tvcatchup.com/channels.html

that will allow you to watch many channels for free on a PC / Laptop!

Thnks pinky "not available in my country" :-(

I do watch English tv (filmon) but I wanted to just record and watch it off the tv, I can plug my computer into the front room tv but the one in my bedroom is oldfashioned! I was going to buy a sky hd+ box but won't now of course. Luckily my query was answered before I bought one (even though , for my sins, I asked it twice)
