Hp1005 Laserjet Printer Question

due to my pc having to be repaired, they removed my hp1005 software. well because i dont have internet at home, can i still download the drivers in an internet cafe?
I ask, because i just tried, and it seemed to expect me to connect the printer after the download.

I'd take the laptop home and plug the printer in, hopefully the download will be finished and it's just a matter of finishing the install.

Presumably you tried to run the downloaded installer.
What you need to do is download the installer and save it.
Take the machine home and DO NOT CONNECT THE PRINTER
Run the installer that you downloaded and connect the printer when it tells you to.

thanx rojash, it worked out ok, when i got home, i put a search in for hp 1005, and it came up instantly, and it was installed in seconds. : )
But not much luck with my canon scanner lide 20, this is giving me problems re-installing!! help

You can get the drivers for you scanner from here:

Just select your windows version and download.

I've linked to the US canon site because the UK one is crap.

same problem as yesterday, it appears windows cant find the software to allow the installation. what next?

I ´m almost there, windows wants me to give it(canon scanner) a file name, i´ve tried, but it wont recognise the name i give.
