I have purchased realplay so that I can download from youtube into realplay, above the item I want to download SHOULD be a icon saying DOWNLOAD but there is not ..... my question is .... how do I download items off youtube into realplay.

There is usually an additional Web Browser plugin app that is part of the Realplayer system. With that installed when you hover over a playing video, it should pop up a window for approx 7 secs to enable you to select 'Download Video'

Are using Google Chrome? There is a known issue with a plug in on Chrome, which prevents you doing what you have said.

Put chrome:plugins in your address bar and you will be taken to the plug ins you have installed. Under Adobe flash player look for a plugin that has pepperflash in the file path and disable it. Close and restart your browser and all should be well.
