Burning A Cd

Some years ago I was able to burn CDs galore but have lost the gift.

There is a gentleman who is with me in the music class and he has never heard of Any Dream will Do so therefore finds it difficult to pick up the rhythm - he has trying to play for 3 years. I don't think he can afford to buy the CD when he only wants one song.

I would like to burn one for him - anybody tell me from the start again. Thanks

Dear god, I hate technology too.....all those typos are due to predictive text!
Conne - click on this link
Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation

Then click 'buy mp3'. It is 89p
You're not on your own, Conne...I'm hopeless too.

I don't have any blank CDs but I do have blank DVDs. Could I use a blank DVD instead of a CD, to burn some music onto?

I haven't actually bought the track I particularly want yet.

I'm also hoping to put some music onto the computer from CDs I already have, and then pick out individual tracks to make a compilation CD. Is this too adventurous for a computer illiterate like me? Any advice would be much appreciated. (Not from you, Conne, I know you're in the same boat).
You can Mrs C - you'll get a load more tracks on a dvd.

Right 4361 - right from the start again - aside it asks do you want to buy the MP3 okay for 89p that is fine - what happens does it go onto my desktop and how do I retrieve to put it on the CD for the gentleman. Thanks

Oh I am going to help you Mrs Chappie when I go to my advanced computer classes - I will be a delight to you -
Thanks HC.

Please can you offer any advice about my post earlier on in this thread? It's about the "error flag" that is showing on my desktop.
It is very easy to create a list in Windows Media Player and 'burn' to cd or dvd.
If you want to play the disk in a standard cd player that doesn't recognise mp3 tracks it is important to choose 'Audio CD' in the format box.

I'd ignore that error message, Mrs C, to be honest. You say you successfully backed up your pc so don't worry.
Mrs C. If you use a DVD to put music on then you will only be able to play it on your PC or using a DVD player. i.e. It won't play in a CD player.

I thought I had submitted this - Mrs Chappie I will be able to help you when I go to my advanced computer classes - I do need to go to understand all this technology.
Question Author
have repeated myself there mrs chappie.
Sorry Conne, I didn't mean to sound patronising towards you. No offence intended. Good luck with the classes.

I cant get the song onto the playlist to copy onto cd or desktop or on to the top of my head or anywhere on my body
Question Author
4361 - i know you are answering other questions - but saw that buying MP3 but how can I put it onto a cd - am repeating myself - sorry senior moments - you have been very patient with all of us but as someone there you do have the computer knowledge that we don't have.
Thanks HC, I'll just ignore it but I wonder if it has anything to do with me not being able to see anybody's photos on Photobucket? Also, I can't put any of my own photos onto Photobucket.

Chrisgel, thanks for pointing that out. I do want to play it in the car. It's a bu88er 'cos I've got about 40 blank DVDs which I will probably never use, but no blank CDs.
Conne, buy the mp3 from the Amazon link I provided and download it to your pc - it should go to 'my music'.

Open Windows Media Player and you should see your mp3 there.

Put your blank cd in to the drive. Click on the name of the track and hold. Drag it across the right hand panel. Click the 'Burn' tab at the top of the right hand panel.

Mrs C, Photobucket is a website and nothing to do with the error messages on your hard drive.

HC, I can log in and get the welcome message, I click Upload, then when I click on Browse Files, nothing happens.

I've tried to uninstall it, with the intention of reinstalling it, but I can't actually find it in my list of programs.

Any suggestions please?
