Sky Tv Problem

We have a Sky box used in a Multiroom set up which was dismantled last week before decorating the room. On re connecting every thing- the telephone line was found to be damaged- this was replaced by another working line we tested several times with a spare phone which produced a dial tone and proved to work by calling the 'time'. The Sky box system says "phone not connected" -Sky Services were called who claimed the line was not working, so we assumed a fault existed in the Sky box. That too was replaced by a known working box.....Still Sky Services reads "phone not connected"
Sky willing to send an engineer at £65 call out- which we are not willing to pay!
