Lime Plugs

Some time ago I started to use the lime plug which was supplied by British Gas. I liked it because I could switch off my computer and all the peripherals with just one press of a remote control handset. It has suddenly stopped working. I've installed new batteries in the handset but it makes no difference. Does anyone have any ideas as to what to do? (Other than replace it, that is.) Thanks in advance.
