My pc has died, and I'm thinking of getting a tablet. I'd be using it for surfing the net, shopping, emails, and down loading and reading books.

Must admit I bought a brand new HP business laptop and shortly after I bought a Motorola XOOM tablet. The only thing I did with the laptop was update it now and again, before selling it virtually unused. The tablet does everything I really need. Browsing internet, emails etc. If I want to print something ! I just type it out in an email and send it to myself. it can then be accessed at my desktop and printed as required.
Having had a tablet for over a year now' I would not be without one.
If I were buying a new tablet I would definitely want a 10 inch screen and at the moment thisone seems like a good deal with it's quad core ...: http:// www.pcw orld.co .uk/gbu k/lapto ps-netb ooks/ip ad-tabl ets-and -ereade rs/tabl ets/asu s-memo- pad-301 -10-1-t ablet-1 6-gb-20 731953- pdt.htm l?srcid =369&am p;xtor= AL-11&a mp;cmpi d=aff~H otUKDea ls~& ;istCom panyId= 9a35962 d-802d- 4e67-97 21-0a33 28ca1f0 2&i stItemI d=qqpxm xaa& ;istBid =t

Must agree the Nexus 7 is a superb tablet if you need to carry one around with you, I did have one on loan for a short time.
But I must say given the choice I would personally go with the larger screen, as my tablet never leaves home.... it also saves me from being busy and enlarging the text to read it.
I should really wear glasses..!
One other point when buying a tablet ... avoid buying a cheap Chinese imports in case of a warranty claim, and stick with the bigger names sold from the UK. There's more chance of some customer service from a UK seller.
