"rate This Computer"

When I click on this (above) - I get a short run of the program until it gets to 'Tuning Windows Media Decoder' then the computer stops-hangs-up and freezes!
What's going on;I've used this function before and had no problem. I can't remember what's been put onto the computer since,but is there a way of getting this function back?
Could I re-install the system without deleting all of my progs?

Unsure where this function is. Never seen/used it on a PC. Have I missed a fundamental MS ap ?

Control Panel> Performance Information & Tools> 'Rate This Computer' is top right.

Ah ok. Not on my work XP one but I'll check out my home W7 one this evening.

Gosh, must have different views set up as I had to use search to find it. 5.9, is that out of 10 ?

Still know no more of the issue you are having, but I'd suggest restoring the system to a date when it was ok, see if that helps.
