I never liked the thing it slowed down the booting of the laptop; so I got rid of it. Opened Control panel>Programme & Features........found Dell Dock in the listed items and un-installed it.
You could do likewise and if at any time you wished to replace it, you could get a free download:-

Thank You, for coming back with good news. I hope all is now well with everything on your lappy.
Have you got an Anti Virus Programme.? If so, give it a 'run through' to make sure there are no hidden 'nasties'. If you haven't got an AV programme, I would suggest that you download and install for free.. MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) :-

If you are and always have been the sole user then your lap top should already have you listed as the administrator.
Open Control Panel > User Accounts and see if it lists you as Administrator. If it does then you should be able to add and/or remove programmes without any problem; unless you have put in a password which you will then need to activate. Personally, I always avoid any passwords to get into my home computer or sections of it...just in case I should forget them and become completely locked out.

Hi there weecalf......If you have opened your Control Panel and removed Dell Dock from listed programmes, I can only assume that a little bit of it has somehow been left behind....perhaps a deliberate manufacturing ploy.
Have a look to see if there is anything in your computer's 'Start-up' folder.
Click 'start button' then in your Programmes section you should find a 'Start-up' folder. Open folder and, if there is a Dell Dock item, right click it and then click delete.
Let me know how you get on with my further suggestion. If it fails, I will try to think of another course of action.
