Hi again folks. I have done the above and whenever I open the iPad, I can easily access my email from the logo at the bottom of the page which shows me how many emails I have. However I dont feel safe with this and would rather revert to my older way - of going into Safari and getting into the internet that way. How do I change this back? Thanks all, sorry about all the iPad questions....

Not sure why you wouldn't feel safe but to stop your mail appearing in the mail app you need to go to settings and remove your email account under 'mail, contacts & calendars'
Do you have the passcode on your iPad. If only you know that, then no one unauthorised can get into your iPad.

In settings, you could delete your email password after you have got your emails. And manually enter it each time you want email. Web based email is less secure and more open to breach.

i have also found that if I try to send someone an email, there are no contacts in my file. If I go into Safari etc. all is OK.
