I have been sent a catalogue on disc, but when I put it in the drive (D) it starts to whirr up but the program does not start, nothing happens. Other similar discs start up straight away, but not this one. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
No it's it's a document in PDF format, on disc. There is no way to explore the disc as nothing appears on the screen when it is whirring in the drive (this stops after a while) . Is there any instuction I can input to run drive D
When on your desktop, double-click "My Computer", then double-click your D: drive, then double-click the PDF file to open it.
Not all discs will autorun, they have to have special files written on them to enable this functionality. You'll have to do it the old fashioned way described above.
Still no joy I'm afraid! Did this, but drop down menu only has: Open, explore, search, eject, create document & properties. ( it calls it'self 'my disc') Is there any way I can use the RUN facility in the start menu?
if it's continually whirring, take it out and try cleaning the disc, o or the drive's laser itself (with a special CD). else, if you have another optical drive, try it in that.
