Help With Sony Bravia Tv Please

We have a Sony Bravia TV connected to a Virgin media Tivo box. How can I get rid of the banner in the top left of the screen which permanently stays on screen saying "HDMI1 ->... 1081i/50". (It confirms the input selection). All other messages disappear after two seconds but this stays. Curiously it goes when you increase the volume, but comes back again. I have checked the manual but could not find anything relevant which worked.Hoping there's a techno wizard out there who can help.
