Google have decided to revamp Gmail,why,I don't know? Now I can't detect any of my contacts.Does anyone know where they are and how do i transfer them to this updated version? Thanks. I'm using Vista.

Thanks BC I tried both options given but in both cases it was said that there are no contacts in any of the groups ie family friends etc

I think if you click on "Gmail" somewhere on the top left hand side you get "contacts" as one of the alternatives.

That's very clearly explained BUT it still states that there are no contacts in any group.Thanks

may be just an individual glitch, then. Have you tried looking with another browser?

I've tried contacting Google but I cannot get any other answer other than the ones you have suggested,it looks as though others have the same problem with no positive outcome,I'm just in limbo at the moment.
