Problem sending ringtone?!?!

I want to send a ringtone that I have in my gallery but everytime i try and send it via multimedia it come up with the message

"unable to insert.
object format not supported."

Why is this and what can i do??

are you sending an incorrect file type (i.e. mp3 tone when your phone won't accept it)??

or, are you putting it in the right place in the phone's gallery?

I downloaded these tones from a wap site which i've used for quite a while now...i downloaded them to my nokia 3220 and i could send them via mms and i also downloaded them to my nokia 6230 and i could send them via mms and bluetooth but i download the same ringtones to my nokia 6680 and i cant send them...when i view details it says the format is "audio/midi"...why cant i send them??
