Why does the blue light keep flicking on my laptop, as if its loading, and it freezes all the time ? It even does it while I am typing this, but most of the time I can't use the laptop until the flicking stops.

Might it be the light that says it is reading/writing from/to the disk drive ?

Yes I think so but why does the laptop keep freezing ?
Could be a number of reasons but it'll probably boil down to lack of resources forcing it to do loads of stuff just to be able to run, and thus being unresponsive to you for regular periods.

Check you have sufficient memory and enough free space on your hard drives. Also run the usual malware scans to ensure nothing is running when it ought not. Check what starts automatically on boot up too, to ensure you aren't running things you don't need to.
It sounds like excessive hard drive activity . Could possibly be a virus or malware infection. Run a scan with your antivirus and then download and run Malware Bytes . As an added precaution download and run Sophos Antivirus Removal Tool which is also free.

At the moment I have Microsoft Security. Can I have other anti malware as well as Microsoft or is it best just to have one ?
Generally speaking you may have as many anti malware programmes as you wish although it is questionable whether you need more than one or two. However you should only run one anti virus programme at a time as they can often see the actions of the other antivirus programme as suspicious and between the two of them end up doing a worse job than either on their own.
