Help Using Htc Desire Please.

I've just bought a new HTC Desire fone. I've no problems using it but when I plug it into my pc it doesn't register. I want to access the photos. Can anyone help please? Is there a setting I have to use? I've tried all the options on the phone but to no avail. I'm using windows xp. Thanks.

you have to download htc sync manager 1st from htc site

been 3 times, that was my last time don't mind flying at all but 9 hrs was too much for me this time!

you should get the phone asking what you want to do
Choose a Connection Type

Charge Only or disk Drive

then underneath

HTC Snc
USB Tethering
Internet pass through

select Disk Drive

just hooked my phone up to my PC and thats roughly what you should see.
you need to enable the phone as "disk drive" then I would imagine XP throws up the same window as win 7 about open folder etc etc

pics are usually on the phone in a folder called DCIM
