Is anyone using VOIP as there home phone and how is it working in comparison with BT/NTL etc. I am considering this and wondered if their were any pitfalls/hidden costs?

back to VoIP
1. Hardware, usually run through routers to dedicated phones, quite costly in setup
2. Software, programs such as Skype, which is just a glorified mike and speaker usage over the internet. This costs nothing to setup an Skype to Skype calls are free, Skype to Landline UK are 1.2 a min (I think)
having used it, the sound breaks up now and again,
Personally I would wait until someone brings out and all in one ( something like the BT Fusion phone, Which is the best thing out of BT in 10 years, all they have to do is add VoIP to Fusion and they have cornered the market)
