Water Damage Iphone 5S

last night i dropped my iphone by accident in bath took it out straight away turned it off this morning turned it on works perfect is there anything else i should do ?

It could still be damp. Suggestions of placing the phone in a bag of rice for a couple of days has solved the problem for some.

Agree, my son put his in rice to dry it out. No problems

Its sounds as if you were lucky but I would leave it in the airing cupboard over night, just to be sure.

I got the same advice given above AFTER I had managed to not allow my last phone to dry out properly. Even given it seems to work, in your shoes, knowing the cost of these things, I think I'd not risk using it yet. Use the rice bag, shove it in the airing cupboard for a day or two, not that I know how long. Use your old spare handset meanwhile.

Do not connect the battery until you are sure it is dry. It might be better to put the phone somewhere warm or conversly in your fridge as the humdity in fridges is very low.

You wiill need to dry out the silica gel in the oven first, meanwhile put your phone somewhere warm or in the fridge.

Avoid the Fridge. The humidity is low in a fridge but it will retain the moisture content present in items which are placed into it. Hence the reason for us placing items such as Bread and Salad ingredients into the Fridge.

Personally, I would opt for the 'airing' cupboard. However, if the phone is working (as your's appears to be) I would Not be over bothered and keep it exposed to whatever temperature you have in your lounge.

No Hans, the fridge is for keeping things cool. Things dry out in low humidity despite the low temperature, that is how freeze drying works.
