scroll option on a laptop

HI I have a HP laptop that has a seperate scroll section on its touch nouse. However, I am about the purchase a sony laptop and wondered if it had a simlar scroll action onit s nouse that can be set up. Hope this makes sense....

Sony laptop touch-pads can be set up so that the edge of the pad acts as a scroll bar tool. Alternatively If you connect a Microsoft intellimouse scroll wheel mouse & press the scroll wheel, automatic scrolling can be achieved by moving the mouse up, down or sideways in certain applications.
