Emailing A Photo In Windows 8

I`ve recently got a new laptop with Windows 8. I access email via the mail app or by going via a bookmarked link to the BT or Yahoo websites and logging in. I want to email a photo to someone. With Vista, I used to click "send to mail recipient" and the email box would appear. Now, when I do that, it says "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel." When I go to Control Panel, I click on Associate a file type or protocol with a program and a huge list comes up with three headings:- Name Description Current Default. I haven`t got the slightest idea what to do after that. I suspect it won`t be possible to sort it out via the internet but I was just wondering if anyone could help as it`s a pain not being able to email a photo.
