I know this sounds silly but what is the best way to clean my laptop screen? Whatever I have used in the past seems to leave smears. Thanks

A slightly damp cloth and then dry.
clean it when its off with a damp cloth and wipe gently with kitchen roll
don't spray it with anything. I did. cost me £80 for a new screen. ;-(
have to ask what did you spray on it svejk?
whatever I had in my hand, Bernie. you know, Windolene when cleaning windows, Cillit Bang when doing the bathroom. whatever.
lol must remember not to use those
A very slightly damp fine-textured microfibre cloth...nothing else required. Excellent also for TV screens and specs lenses.
Aw!. That could have been L-I-K washing his own windows. I love that.
I just wring-out the dish-cloth and wipe over my computer, laptop and TV screens. Don't even bother to wipe them dry; they dry off without any smears if regularly wiped over with a damp cloth.

OG, I have just stolen your link. I hope you don't mind.

It's not mine. Google might claim it though :-)

You can get screensavers and cat versions too.
I spray a little window cleaning stuff on kitchen roll so it's just slightly damp, that cleans screen and keyboard.
I wouldn't ever again use any Window Cleaning Liquid; especially on an Lcd screen. Used Car Windscreen Cleaner on a Cathode Ray Tube Monitor and it removed an Anti Glare coating..... There are chemicals in all Glass Cleaning Liquids.
