Photos On Iphone 5C

I have a new iPhone 5c and when I take a photo it looks really good quality on the phone. However the moment I send it to myself via email, it is grainy and blurry. I zoom in on the phone and it is far better quality. So, how can I get that quality exported?!

When you email it to yourself does it ask you what size you want to send, you need to ensure you send the original size or it will compress it and you will lose quality
