Flash Drive

I have bought a flash drive for my computer I understand that it records all the information in the computer if I unplug the drive and then put more data into the computer will the drive pick up at data when I plug the drive back in to the computer ?

A flash drive is simply a removable piece of storage, just like an external hard drive or an optical disc. Unless you have loaded some automatic backup software the only data on the flash drive will be what you copy to it yourself.

Much as bhg says. Would have to be a very large flash drive to hold ALL the PCs data, and spend a long time checking and copying even if you ran software backing it all up. You could, however, run software to auto-backup, say, your "document" directory on detection of insertion of the drive.

How do you copy data onto the flash drive ?

The same way you copy anything else. Either drag and drop or 'copy' / 'paste'.

I right click mouse on the folder I want to copy to drive and there is a send to option. I then click on the e drive which shows name of your flash drive. It may flash a bit if it has light on it.

What sort of things do you want to save on the flash drive?
If you want to save any spreadsheets, word documents, music, pictures etc on it then just use the 'save as' function and select the name of the flash drive (maybe E or F drive)
