I have an old HTC Desire G7 phone which I use as a backup, but why is it that when I go into settings to turn on Blutooth it's only discoverable for 190 seconds, is there a way I can turn it on to permanent?

No idea on the HTC I'm afraid but the Bluetooth standard is that once you have paired a device with your phone whilst it is discoverable it should always find it as long as Bluetooth is on, it only has to be discoverable to pair.
