I sorted a friends computer on Tuesday with this.

Took 2 runs of Malwarebytes to do it!

Scan and clean it, don't restart

Turn off System Restore

Restart

Scan and clean again

Restart

scan again

Start Internet Explorer (and all other browsers) in private/incognito mode

Reset the homepage in options to eg. google

Exit browser and start as normal (do for all browsers in turn)

If google come up, then ok

Scan again

If clean, turn back on System Restore and restart
