Hudl2 V Ipad Mini

If you could get a Hudl2 for £70 by using clubcard points would that savings be worth it rather than getting an ipad mini @ £199 or is the superior (?) performance of the ipad worth it??

Having bought my iPad 3 years ago. I went to PC World first. They just confused me. Then I went to the Apple Store. They unconfused me. I would not now change or buy anything other than Apple. They are more expensive but worth it. That is just my opinion. Go into an Apple Store and ask about the mini ipad. They don't need to know that you will buy elsewhere.

The Hudl gets very positive reviews in the latest edition of the WebUser magazine, they give it 5/5 for value-for-money:-

The Hudlk2’s unique selling point is that it comes at an extraordinary price. There are faster and flashier tablets out there, and the Hudl2 has a few niggles, such as battery life and its disappointing camera, but this tablet would still be great value for money if it Hudl2 was only half as good as it is. The addition of the child-safety app makes it more family-friendly, but its plus points will appeal to anyone, young or old, who wants a decent tablet that’s fantastic value for money.

Personally I think that Apple is like a happy-clappy religion - hand over all your money then spend all your time shouting Hallelujah (because you've now spent so much money so have to justify that to yourself).

Which magazine reviewed the Hudl2 and said:

Note the IPad mini selling at £199 is an old model.

The screen resolution of that IPad mini is only 1024x768 pixels.

The Hudl 2 screen resolution is 1920 x 1200 pixels (obviously the higher the numbers the better the quality)

Also the Hudl 2 screen is 8.3 inches but the IPad mini screen is only 7.9 inches.

So don't assume the Apple has a superior performance.

If you can afford it, get an iPad, the whole experience is far superior.

If you do not have much money, the hudl2 is fine.

TBH gromit I'm being a bit precious - I'm going abroad for 3 weeks to a place with free wifi and I'm sick of stretching the screen on my phone! But when I come back I'm sure I will return to my laptop with optical mouse so the ipad seems wasteful (although everyone promises me I will use it all the time once I'm back).

That does look good.I have in fact got the hudl, I had more points than I thought so it was £58. Can't argue with that. It's easy to use as it's just like my phone. After 3 nights playing for the first time I'm yet to understand why candy crush has become so successful.
