Iphone 4 Change Of User

I have been given an iPhone 4 - yes I know, I am a lucky person. However, it is locked to the previous owners Apple ID and despite having been given the password and pass number I can't erase all the photos etc. Apple Support wasn't able to help, can you?

You go to Settings/General/Reset/Erase all Content and Settings, but you should get it unlocked from the previous owners mobile company.

That is where I get blocked out . . after the Erase etc. it asks for the Apple ID and it won't accept the one that I have been given.

Can you press the "Home" button and slide the slider to unlock your iPhone, then tap the "Settings" icon, scroll down and tap "Store."?

...... I celebrated too soon. It still doesn't work ! Its the Apple ID password that's the problem and I have been given it by the previous owner.

The password might be case sensitive...you'll have to check with the previous owner.

Apple do ask for at least 1 Capital letter in the password.

I think the best thing that I can do is visit my local Vodaphone store tomorrow. Many thanks for your patience. Its a shame that I don't have a teenager in the house!

i just went into i tunes and deleted my account and set up another one but you have to give credit / debit card details too

There's an None option when setting up an Apple account and you avoid giving any credit /debit card details. iTunes Gift Vouchers are an acceptable replacement and are easy to redeem.
