How can I stop interference from my car engine when listening to Radio 4 longwave (in particular TMS!)

I think u might have some cheap HT leads in there. Having 2 dig deep in the memory bank here as i've been a digital radio listener for many years. Way back would be listening 2 radio 4 and would hear a car go past - i could hear the gear changes and someone said to me 'it's the HT leads, they give out radio signals if they're not sufficiently insulated'. I know a good set is not 2 expensive - 25 quid maybe. Worth a try ? good luck. Timbo
