Clear History On Ipad

Someone on here mentioned how you could clear your browsing history in Safari without losing your passwords and logins. Is that possible?

I can see all my passwords listed and I can see how to delete the history but will it clear them all down?

Tap the book symbol (top right) tap 'history' tap 'clear' at bottom of window. This will clear your history but not your password.
