No Sound On An Acer S240Hl Monitor

Am assuming the monitor has integral speakers as no manual mentions sound or how to connect speakers, though can't actually see any. There's only a D-sub connection free at the back of the monitor. Sound's at 100% on the PC settings.

So with only VGA, HDMI & D-sub connections on the monitor, how do we connect speakers ?

The vast majority of monitors don't have speakers (or any way of connecting speakers to them). I've certainly never had any monitor with sound.

You connect speakers directly to your PC!

Assuming your using a desktop there should be connections at the back of the pc

There are connections on the PC but sound doesn't come from there, does it ? Mine comes from the monitor (this one isn't mine). So he needs to buy speakers. Nice of PC World to tell him !
