Installing An Hp1514 Deskjet

I have unistalled my old HP PSC and have bought the above. I have started to install but seem to be left with a two pin plug which is connected to the power adaptor, I can't find where it should go but the instructions in the box are for a HPdesktop 1510 all in one series, are they similar or wrong instructions? The box it came in seems to be intact (from Tesco) so I am stuck unless someone can help please. I have windows 7 and firefox on an Acer laptop.

Could it be that the two pin plug is a foreign mains lead and is not needed?

There should also be a three pin English mains lead in the box as well.

If there is NOT a three pin English mains lead in there it may be that Tesco are selling a printer that is not correct for the English market as every device sold in the UK should have a UK mains lead in it.

I think they are the same directions for either. Are you saying the Electrical power plug is a two pin connector similar to what you get abroad? If so, have a rummage around in the box and look for an adaptor.

The HP1514 printer will be part of the HP1510 series, so you seem to have got the correct instructions. (It's probably just a colour difference; the HP1510 is white, whereas the HP1514 is black).

Picture 2 in the set-up instructions ( http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03837662 ) shows that [unsurprisingly] one end of the power adapter is connected to the printer and the other end to your mains socket. A UK model should have a 3-pin plug on the end of the relevant lead. If it hasn't you could complain to Tesco but it would be far easier simply to remove the 2-pin plug and replace it with a 3-pin one (preferably with a 3A fuse) or to use a 'visitor' travel adapter for a quid from Poundland:

Well, whose a clever boy then :o) (two clever boys actuallyso can't give a best answer) I have been forever trying to figure it - thought I'd taken everything out of the box -why the heck didn't I ask AB earlier -thank you both very much.XX

Thank you too Chris, another clever boy. Actually the 1514 is white, I did think it was going to be black which I would have preferred but can't be pestered to take it back now. Thanks again.
