I am waiting with bated breath to see if I am still operational tomorrow. Windows 10 is booked to download overnight probably or first thing when I switch on. Fingers crossed.

I'm also waiting ,but my techie friend says to wait for a while before installing . Wait and see what problems arise and get sorted out first. Then , after a few days/weeks, then, and only then, make a decision as to whether or not to accept it. Like you, fingers crossed.

not necessarily on the 29th though
I might be wrong but believe that the download is just that - you choose when to perform the "install". I stand to be corrected by greater minds than mine! :-)
Not everyone will get their download tomorrow. The 'Insiders' who have been using the technical preview will get it first.

I'm very impressed with it, clean and simple.

Righto janbee. I will do that if its me who has to pull the trigger. I would expect glitches initially anyway, so may as let the techies have the hassle. Lie in there are no greater minds different greater no.

I have heard that it is pretty good with the old start up menu type wotsit back. Looking forward to it really, I have a dead desktop waio install a nes hybrid hard drive and have been putting it off using w10 as an excuse. 'she who must be obeyed' will claim back my den if I don't move sharpish
I've heard that it is very good and the Beta testing has thrown up a huge amount of issues that have been resolved. I'm taking advice from my pc guy - who dropped my old drive into a new Asus so I didn't have to take W8. He'll put the new drive in, rewire the biomes, and hey bingo - probably will be week commencing Aug 10.
What's the oldest hardware people are hoping to run Windows 10 on?

Any favourite payware that you are mentally prepared to have nixed by the upgrade?

Or are you using your PCs just for email/Skype/Facebook/Web Browsing?

in my case Hypo I am currently using HP pavilion g6 notebook lappy windows 8.1 64bit that has been checked by Microsoft for compatability with w10. Runs well but not used for gaming. The desktop that I hope to resurrect has I think an old axis motherboard that was top spec about 4 yrs ago graphics and sound cards were top spec at the time. I am putting in a sega hybrid hard drive when I start the rebuild. My son used to play WOWC amongst other games and was ultra competitive on it. The git did use the darkside he has since told me, he has since moved out.The power supply was also top spec but that side holds no fears. ( I am an ex electronics engineer)
