It seems to be quicker and so far more reliable..
Much quicker boot up and shut down.
Much quicker in use.
Modern, clean interface that is easy to use and navigate.

I like it and have had no problems with W10 compatibility with software and wifi printer etc.
Would my photoshop be safe at not get lost in the change over?
another vote for win 10. My notebook came with a touch screen facility that was so bad I switched it off. It has come back on with win 10, now works properly and had an easy to access on/off button. When I disabled it before, it was a real faff.
I'm getting a prompt to upgrade from HP Support Assistant. Is that the right way to do it?

I'm computer stupid!

I suppose when Windows 11/12/13 come in you will already have (with W10) a version which enables a smoother upgrade
FF, Microsoft says W10 will be the very last version.

ummm, yes, do it that way.
I have done several upgrades and no real issues. All the programs worked and all my personal stuff remained even though I backed up before to be safe. You might have to download a new printer driver but other than that give it a whirl. We are here to assist if anything doesn't work.
It said it will send it to me!
When you are ready ummm I will tell you how to make it happen
Cheers :-)
It even downloaded successfully on my old Samsung netbook that had been running Windows 7 Starter. I wasn't expecting that!
Any issues hc

I don't have any issues with Windows 8.1, which could be any quicker booting. I will probably upgrade though, as it seems the natural thing to do, although I am concerned about email. I still use Microsoft Mail, which is no longer supported under Windows 7/8 - however, at some point I will have to move on and this seems as good a time as any
No issues at all, ukbod
Khandro, I already had photoshop elements 9 installed on my computer and it still works after upgrading to W10. I only use 1/1000000 of it though so I can't give you a guarantee that it all works. :-)
jomifl; I have CS5 extended version, which I'd hate to put in jeopardy, however I'll probably end up with W10 like everyone else, it's just that I'm always suspicious of something for nothing in the cyberworld.
