I live in the US and will be moving back to the UK soon. Can anyone tell me if it is worth buying an LCD tv over here to use in the UK? I'm not sure it will work, but the prices here are so much better!

I'm fairly sure all modern TV equipment support both PAL (European) and NTSC (American) formats. Not sure about the voltages though!

This is pure supposition, but while OBonio is spot on about UK equipment supporting NTSC, the US is notoriously parochial and I would not be surprised if their equipment doesn't support PAL. Judging by the chat on various forums, multiregion DVD players are nowhere near as common over there. There's definitely a voltage difference too.

Thanks to both of you.  I know the US is more parochial coz we couldn't buy a multiregion DVD over here (the attitude was 'why would you ever want one?!)  I'll keep researching, but it sounds like it's a non-starter.  Cheers.
The bit about OBonio being spot on wasn't supposition!
