I just use CD-R's and nero - I always opt to create an SVCD then drag and drop the MPEG's I wish to burn onto nero then click burn; it encodes and burns perfectly every time. I only have to change the format of the video if it is an AVI file.
Good luck!!
I use Nero al lthe time for burning to DVD.The following is the process I use.
Open Nero StartSmart, and it the top right select the DVD option.Select the Star icon on the left, and then the make your own DVD icon. Now you want to select the add ideo files option on the right.A box appears where you can find the file you want to burn.Double click on the file, and it should be imported onto the left of the screen. Then all you need to do is click next a few times until it gets to the screen with the burn option.Click on burn, andyour file should get converted and burnt to DVD.It usually takes about 3 hours for a movie.
