I Need A New Mobile But I'm Clueless

I need to be able to ring my best friend and chat for an 'hour'. Her OH has just insisted that they have the landline taken out.

I would ring her on the landline and it would cost me nothing. Now, I can only get hold of her on her mobile. I have a 'pay as you go' Samsung but I need a contract phone, I think. I don't know where to look or what to do.

I don't need all the gubbings that comes with phones. I just need to be able to ring her and chat, without worrying about the cost.

I feel as if I've lost her.

Any suggestions, please?

If you both download whatsapp, you can call each other free.
+1 for WhatsApp.
You really don't need a new mobile phone, when you think about it, your friend is getting the landline cut, let her get a sim same as your network, she needs the new phone, you were doing kind of ok until her husband cut the line.
Quite honestly, Tilly......unless they are really struggling I would dump the OH in favour of chats with girlfriends on a landline.....☺
Me too.
☺☺...x

Me, Pixie?....x
I do, Pix but we have two mobiles as well
Good enough for me :-)

We have BT Infinity and pay extra for unlimited calls but, as far as I can see, they still charge for mobile calls.
I may be wrong.

What's WhatsApp?
We have a land line, same deal has Yilly.
Ok, tone :-). It's a free app, tilly. Google on your mobile and just download it.
Whatsapp, if you both have it on your mobiles you can call each other for free, like skype and viber, I know someone said here you have to pay for skype, I don't, once i keep my credit to the to the minimum it covers all the little apps on my mobile

Thanks, Pixie and Ean.
You're welcome, you need to get a young relation, keep up Tilly, it's all past texting and talking now, there's so much more
Whatsapp is good but is like Skype - it needs internet connection. I'd only use it at home via my home broadband not out and about as I have limited mobile data with my phone.
Welcome x
Landline here as folk can't remember my dementia mother's phone number is.....?
