http://www.engadget.com/ is another site I'd recommend, as well as http://gear.ign.com
It is worth pointing out that the iPod Nano came as a bit of a shock to most people - there weren't even any rumours or press leaks.

There's plenty of information you can find about the iPod nano.
I'm not sure about the future releases.
One thing you have to be careful about with the iPod nano that alot of people have complained about is that the screen can be scratched easily.
You might want to visit http://www.freeipods.com for FREE iPods. All you need to do is follow the instructions and I have read various articles and have considered that it could be a scam but from what i've heard from alot of people is that it's legit' and many people have received their iPods completely free.
I've tried doing this myself, I haven't put any credit card details in (you need to do this to verify your address) but I do believe it works... I cannot say for 100% although many others I trust do.

check this:
http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/
tells you if you should/should not buy a product from them, based on rumours going round.
but you shouldn't really be thinking about this anyway; if you find a product that does what you want, get it. if it doesn't do what you want, don't buy it.

Another note: further to what Tha-Flash said, there have been lots of complaints about the nano scratching and the LCD even breaking with normal, quite careful use.
Probably due to the thinner plastic they're using on it, although the original iPod also scratches very easily.
As with most Apple products, it's generally better to wait until the second generation (2G) release of their products, where all the niggles and complaints have usually been fixed.
