I want to get a new broadband modem (ADSL/ASDL -I dunno which one it is) but i'm not sure what type to get. I've looked at a few in various shops but most of them are wireless, i'm wondering if this would make a difference when connecting it. I only want to use it in one room though.

the ISP usually supplies a modem.. have they not?

If you've already got a modem, and just want to let another computer use the internet connection, what you need is a router.
