New Iphone 6

I will be getting my new iPhone 6 delivered by courier sometime tomorrow.

At present, I have an iPhone 4. This new 6 is an upgrade from O2, and I am retaining my 4.

I have a lot of stuff stored under the "notes" section, plus loads of contacts, telephone numbers, and email addresses. I also have a few apps. like Dictionaries, etc, that I don't want to lose.

I know the 2 phones use a different SIM, so I can't just take the SIM out of my 4 and pop it in my new 6.

So is there a way that I can swap all the above onto my new 6, without using iTunes ?

The reason that I am asking is that find itunes a very un-friendly thing to use. I spent ages a couple of years ago, loading lots of classical music on to the 4, and then it all ruddy disappeared, when I synced on itunes !

You will need a Nano sim from your phone company.

Starting the new iPhone you will be asked for your iCloud/Apple ID and all will load onto the new phone.

Thanks Jom....actually I am collecting the new 6 from the O2 store tomorrow, so perhaps if I smile nicely, one of those spotty young lads will do it for me !

ANYTHING is better than ruddy itunes ! How apple can design the perfect mobile phone ( in my humble opinion ! ) but leave us with the truly ghastly itunes is beyond me !

For all my music on iTunes I joined iTunes Match for £21 PA and I can update my phones seamlessly.

I have to say I have never had a problem with iTunes (on a Mac), never used it on a Windows box.

BTW, I 'think' you'll need to re-download all your apps if you go down Jomletts route as your iCloud account only registers that you have bought them.

CrapAtCryptics...to be honest, no I don't, mainly because of my fear of itunes.

But if this new icloud-thingy works, I might do it more often. I asked it to back up to icloud about 5mins ago, and it is merrily chugging along, although it says that it will take about an hour. ( I am thinking that it will take less time of the future, as this is my first time )

By the way, O2 is having a great sale at the moment. I have got a new iPhone 6, 700 mins, plus unlimited texts, plus 500gb, for only £28:50 a month, which is only about £6 more than I am paying now !

I don't want to advertise here on AB but that seems like a very good deal to me ( the new iPhone 6 is 4g as well ! )

Mickey, if you go to your local o2 shop, they will do it there & then, or you can get your card cut to the iPhone 6 tray, it's on a Nano Mini Card, if you do get it cut don't forget to Reg your New phone with o2, just transferred mine from a 4>>to a 5.
