I have just inherited an iphone4 and want to install iOS 9 so I can download Google, is this possible or should I go down to iOS 8 ??

According to Wikipedia, iOS 7.1.2 is the limit for the iPhone 4:

What do you mean by this?

Google is a search engine (amongst other things) so you can use it in any browser.

With an apple product you cannot downgrade once you have done an update or your product already has that operating system.

Thanx Beunchico, it appears that the Iphone 4 does not support iOS9. The iphone 4s does.
