Can anyone recommend a good free piece of software i can safely install on my laptop that will prevent every page on every browser I open become bombarded with bleedy adverts....... driving me mad!!

cough......adBlock Plus cough.......it can be disabled on sites where you want to support the funding.....eg on AB

To stop adverts you can Web block them. All one word works well.
