It's been a while since I last topped up & possibly things have changed.

I went to a couple of shops & a garage where I used to do it but
was told it was all done on-line these days.

Seems odd to me- comments please.

Thanks Hopkirk.

I keep a PAYG 'phone in the car for emergencies, top-up in the local Spar shop, only thing I ever go in there for.

Thanks Baldric.

I've got a choice of Tesco, Morrison & now Spar so I should get sorted.
My local newsagent sells top up cards
..Wilkinsons...Post Office..Asda..
Can you still do it on an ATM machine?

I can't remember if I have seen that option recently.
Yep :)
..Barclays
Lots of newsagents and supermarkets do them. Bank 'hole in the walls' do sometimes too.

I don't know who told you it was all done on line but that is clearly nonsense. Not everyone is on line nor necessarily near to their PC when they need to top-up. The companies are not going to deliberately throw away business. You should ask whoever told you where they got that nonsense from.
