I have one of these beasties, and the battery life isn't brilliant. I have looked on ebay to see if I can get an in-car charger, but I haven't had much success.

I am away from home for a few hours every day, and I was chased out of ASDA yesterday, for plugging it into one of their sockets !

Can anyone help ?

Ellipsis....unfortunately, this beastie has internal batteries and I can't just pop another one in. I shall persevere with my quest.
ummmm
I have found that most outlets that advertise free Wi-Fi are happy to allow plug ins,but it is polite to ask beforehand. If your uncle's pub has no Wi-Fi then it is a ruddy cheek to steal his electricity.
Sadly manners are on the decline.
It does have wi-fi and my uncle would have happily let him charge his phone...if he'd made a purchase.
ummmm
You didn't mention he hadn't even bought a drink. Double cheek.

Why continue with your quest. The links I have provided for you are for the model you displayed in your title OP. An Acer Aspire Switch 10 !! Not the 10E
retrocop, at 1.5 amp I don't think that charger will charge the tablet whilst it is being used. It MIGHT be okay if the tablet is switched off.

I have a Nexus 7 and a 1.5 was utterly useless. I had to buy a 3a - the same power as the one in SlackAlice's link.
Question Author
Thanks Retro...that looks like what I wanted. But I don't use Amazon, and over £20 seems a bit steep.
Take your machine to Maplins and ask for a 5A charger, mikey.
You get what you should pay for. When has any techie accessory been cheap unless it is a sweat shop knock off ?

Thanks hc !

HC...I have looked on the mains charger, and it says "output 12v 1.5A....if I connect a 5A charger, could it damage the Acer ?
No, it won't - but I don't think a 1.5 A will be powerful enough
Ooops, didn't read your question properly. Ignore my previous answer

This is Flea- bay. If you cannot find one on this link I suggest you buy an ASUS T100 Transformer and ditch your Acer.
Question Author
hc...a few last questions if I may !

So, if I get a 1.5A, or a 5A in-car charger, its shouldn't do any damage to the ACER....hope I have that correct !

Even if a 1.5A will do the job, a 5A will do it quicker....have a got that right ?

Polarity will have to be the same though, won't it ? The polarity is quite clearly marked on the mains charger....outer negative, inner positive.

Why Buy From Us?

Question Author
Thanks Retro....a bit cheaper and not Amazon !
I'm interested to know why you won't shop Amazon, mikey.
Tax dodgers?
Question Author
HC...If I tell you, I may be embroiled in a long ranging discussion with someone..... But I will anyway !

They treat their staff appallingly, and they don't see the need to pay any/enough taxes in Britain.

Anyway, there is always an alternative to Amazon, as Retro has kindly shown me.
Many eBay sellers don't pay UK tax either, mikey.
