Hi, I am trying to copy my 'Seargent peppers lonely hearts club band' cd on Roxio as one file, so I can put it onto itunes as one file, so it will play without that annoying break between songs on my ipod. Any Ideas?

You can do this on itunes itself. Make sure your disc is inserted and wait until all the tracks appear after the cddb gets the names. Still in itunes - click on edit and the select all, so all tracks turn blue- this means they are highlighted - then click on advanced and then join cd tracks. A line should appear down the side of the titles. Now when you click import, they will be imported as on track. Hope this helps.
sorry - as one track

Uninstall roxio and download the latest Windows Media Player, you can use that for all your burning needs, Roxio is infamous for problems and annoying little ticks. Nero is better, but unless you know what your doing youll have to pay for it.

Incidently, the latest WMP is Ipod friendly and is much easier to keep your media library in sync without doubling up on hard drive space.

But it's still easier if you want to get it onto itunes then use itunes from the start.

Hi snapdharlich. Done what you said, I clicked on edit and 'select all' and they turned blue.  I then went to advanced, but the 'Join cd tracks' option isnt highlighted so will not let me click it. Any ideas how to highlight it?

I've tried this three times whilst witing this post - I don't want to waste anyones time! Can I suggest restarting your computer and starting again. I can't see why this doesn't work. Please try again and keep me updated.

Have you the newest version of itunes?

And remember. -The songs must be on the cd and not already on itunes. Once they are on iTunes, it won't  work. You have to havr the tracks on CD before you import

Hi snapdharlich, restarted my computer to no avail. Downloaded latest version of itunes but that didnt work either. In fact, when it came on, my old song list was reinstated. Very odd! I have lost about 500 songs. Tried a system restore, which i thought worked, but when i tried to open the itunes i had before i downloaded the latest version (which was there) it wouldnt let me. Said there was files missing. Had to undo my system restore. Is there a way of putting all my songs currently on my ipod onto itunes, so I dont have to reinstall all my cd's?
magicbeatle - Yes you can do this, but make sure automatic update is switched off - If you connect your ipod when automatic update is on, you will lose the songs on your ipod too. Have a look at the next thread down from this one about ipod shuffle, I told someone else how to get songs off their ipod. Good Luck.
There have been lots of problems with itunes version 5, by the way, although they should've been fixed with the release of itunes version 5.1 - but you never know. Version 5 deleted all of the songs on my ipod - 9256 songs.  Thank God I had a backup on another hard drive.
