Non Tagged Ink Cartridges

When browsing for ink cartridges so many show the term "non tagged" - can anyone explain what this actually means.
I have been buying compatible inks without seeing this phrase but now all providers seem to be showing this.
Any guidance will be appreciated.

So a "non tagged" cartridge may not comply 100% to the colours inside.
