can anyone recommend a stick thing..scenario ..telly in spare room at mum's ..no aerial connection..indoor ones don'twant to play..need something to connect to wireless broadband...with no subscriptions..looking for normal range of freeview channels....
There's simply no way to get the full range of Freeview channels (or even a good selection of them) over the internet. All of the various sticks and boxes are designed to supplement Freeview reception, not to actually provide it. Sorry!
I want a stick to leave in the room here for mum so do not want one that incurs her any further charges..only want to get main channels plus itv2 5USA maybe really and pick...
From Amazon
ou can take your Amazon Fire TV device with you if you are moving or travelling to certain countries outside of the UK. Your Amazon Fire TV device will work in the following countries:
United States
United Kingdom (UK)
Germany
Austria (Fire TV Stick only)
Japan
In order to use your device outside of the UK, you need to change the Country Settings for your Amazon
Just to note that you can't always access live tv through iplayer / itv / c4 on the firestick, some programmes are not available live but will be on catch up
By chance I have just found out that Now has a new box - the Now TV Smart Box. £40, it has 60 live Freeview channels and 15 HD channels, plus the apps that the other Now boxes have.
It will also pause and rewind live tv.
