Best Go-Pro Alternative

I want to make a 'carpool karaoke' for my daughter's birthday. I know i need a go-pro type camera and they're are many cheaper alternatives on amazon. But I'm not sure I can trust the reviews. I've heard they're added by the sellers! Can anyone recommend one?
